The Storytellers The Storytellers Experience the Rocklands wilderness

Staying with us

Harmonious simplicity: our accommodation spaces were designed to let people experience for themselves the raw and rugged magic that is the Cederberg landscape. They are simple, ecologically sustainable, yet comfortable, merging with the surrounding wilderness.

We encourage our guests to take longer stays when visiting us, and our pricing is graded accordingly - the longer you stay, the better value. Our reason for doing so is to make our tourism more harmonious - for our guests, for ourselves and most certainly for mother nature. A two-night weekend is scarcely enough to shake off the stress of a life in the city, leaving no time at all to truly engage with nature, in mutual experience - rather than simply taking from her healing power allopathically. The reduced load on water and washing is also more sustainable in our dry area. We leave three-day gaps between stays.

We offer three, beautiful, close to nature spaces:
DASSIE DEN: Glamping on a deck with a spectacular view of the cliffs. Sleeps 4.
TORTOISE TERRACE: Glamping right up under the cliffs, sitting under the stars in the wilderness. Sleeps 5.
CARACAL COTTAGE: Hidden between the rocks in a gypsy-style cottage. Sleeps six.

All are priced as folllows:
4-Day Stay (the minimum length stay we offer): R3200 (R800 per day)
7-Day Stay: R4900 (R700 a day)
14-Day Stay: R8400 (R600 a day)
30-Day Stay: R15 000 (R500 a day)

We are situated in Rocklands, Agter Pakhuis Valley, northern Cederberg, right at the edge of the wilderness area. Exact driving directions are supplied on confirmation of a booking.

All of our spaces are private, close to nature and largely off-grid (although they do have electric fridges and plug points). We have no wifi (although there is MTN signal). If you require internet access during your stay, please book Caracal Cottage, which has a LAN connection.
